The Diet Dr Pepper One Of A Kind Style Sweepstakes is on and to help celebrate the kickoff this time I decided to highlight my personal way of shopping. My love for shopping is like an art form and the way I shop has really defined my one of a kind style. I shop clearance aisles first and when I spot something I like it has to meet a certain criteria – like the ability to be worn at least two different ways and be easily worn for day or night (I have a tendency to “build” outfits piece by piece). Also, while the new arrivals that are placed right smack in the front of the store may be the easiest choice, it can also leave you looking like everyone else. Sure, It can be challenging and at times frustrating but it’s what sets my outfits apart from others. Another habit of mine is to mix and match high-end pieces with affordable finds that will get me the most wear. For the most part when I see something on the rack I can envision what I’ll be wearing it with before I even walk out the door…and those are the pieces I wear to death and the pieces that make my style one of a kind.
Just last weekend I went shopping for some spring shoes and I knew I wanted booties. At first I was looking for a black and brown pair, but then I saw this tan suede pair with a gold platform and they were only $20! Right away I knew that they’d be perfect to dress up or down so I snagged them right away. The first outfit I wore them with a pair of mint green skinny jeans, a simple white tee, a boyfriend blazer and a polka dot scarf. For my second outfit I wore the booties with my go-to skirt and a chambray top. I love the way it gives the black skirt a more laid back look without taking away the dressy part. This particular outfit was under $100 and I’ve worn each piece a ton of different ways.
